Dear Berkshire BPW members and friends,
For many of us, September means new beginnings. Summer vacations wind down, students return to school, days are shorter, and nights are cooler. I hope this season finds you eager to explore new beginnings, energized and refreshed from the Summer.
A few key updates for this month:
Women of Achievement Co-Chairs Abby Powers and Stephanie Bosley have been working to coordinate an amazing event for our Women of Achievement Celebration, coming up on 9/20. As you can imagine, the changing COVID situation in our area has made this an even more challenging task, and I want to recognize Abby and Stephanie for all of the work they continue to put in to make this event a success.
After careful consideration for the health and safety of our honorees, guests, members, and volunteers, we have made the decision to switch to a virtual format for this year’s Women of Achievement event. The short recognition program for our honorees will still take place at Mill + Main on 9/20, but only with those involved in the ceremony present in person. The event will be live-streamed, and will also include music from the Misty Blues Band and networking. We are committed to keeping this event fun, upbeat, and celebratory!
We look forward to “seeing” you at the virtual event as we honor those involved with the Berkshire COVID-19 Vaccine Collaborative. You can purchase your tickets for this event and donate here. You can find posts sharing details about WOA on our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, so be sure to like, comment, or share these posts to help us get the word out!
All proceeds from the Women of Achievement event directly fund our Career Advancement Scholarship Program, and help us assist hardworking local women in their career growth and further education. Our Scholarship committee was recently able to experience this firsthand, as we contacted all 20 of this year’s scholarship recipients to share with them the news that they were selected. The impact of these scholarships is so meaningful to these women, their families, our community, and our organization.
As a reminder, if you do choose to donate to BBPW – at any point in the year – be sure to check if your employer has a donation matching program. These matched donations add up and can help us further increase the impact of our Scholarship program! If you have any questions about how to take advantage of your employer’s donation match, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I will be happy to assist.
We look forward to seeing our members at our October Membership meeting, which will take place on Monday, 10/4 at 5:30pm. This meeting will take place virtually via Zoom, so be sure to RSVP so you can log on and join us. We will be recognizing our 2021 scholarship recipients, learning more about how our scholarship program works and how you can get involved, and enjoying some networking with new and old friends. Hope to see you there!
Thank you to all for your support and membership. Working together, we continue to have a wonderful positive impact on our community, as well as within our organization.
Take care,
Hannah
