October Greetings from the President!

October Greetings from the President!

Celia Clancy, BBPW President, 2019The rich fall color is just beautiful here in the Berkshires. I love walking, driving and simply watching the leaves fall all around us!

I hope you enjoyed our October dinner and meeting, with both speakers, Hillery Hinds-Maxymillian and Amy Diamond talking to us about critical issues of our day, domestic violence and increasing women’s representation in public office. I was inspired by the level of engagement and participation during both talks. The Programming team, the Board and I look forward to your feedback about the evening to make our upcoming events even better.

I hope also you picked up Berkshire BPW Committee Participation form and will advise us of how you would like to get involved with the organization. It is really a lot of fun to work together as a team to inspire and help elevate women!

Our November dinner meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 4th from 5:30-7:30 at Patrick’s pub. Be sure to RSVP before the October 28th deadline. We have been selling out and don’t want to turn you away!

The topic for November will highlight Alzheimer’s disease—ignore it, fear it or fight it!

Local author, Joan Cohen will speak about how her personal experiences with Alzheimer’s influenced Land of Last Chances, a novel about a pregnant middle-aged executive. When an unmarried executive discovers she’s pregnant and doesn’t know which of the two men in her life is the father, she realizes her professional risk management skills don’t extend to her personal life. Worse yet, she may carry a rare hereditary gene for early-onset Alzheimer’s. Whose needs should prevail—hers or the next generation’s?

Additionally, Deborah Gallant will share important information about EforAll, an exciting new program for entrepreneurs and community leaders who want to help advise and teach them. Deborah is the new Executive Director and BBPW member.

The eNewsletter has been launched and starting this month, members can now contribute content regarding their businesses. Input is through the website and is due by the 15th of every month, for delivery to your inbox on the 18th of every month. I hope to read some exciting articles in this issue!

A key event you won’t want to miss is the 1Berkshire Good News Business Salute celebrating Women in Business month at the new Williams Inn in Williamstown on October 30th from 5-7:30pm. BBPW members will receive the member rate of $35.00.

Your board continues to be energized and is working hard. We are excited by new members and bigger attendance at our meetings . We remain committed to making the Berkshire BPW worth every minute of your time and energy.

See you out and about our gorgeous ‘Shire!

Warmly,

Celia
