November 2020: Letter from the President

Dear BBPW members and friends,

Kalee CarmelI hope everyone was able to enjoy some of the warm, sunny weather we were blessed with over the past couple weeks, and that there is still a more to come before year end. For those of you I have not met – Nice to meet you, my name is Kalee Carmel and I am the incumbent President of BBPW! I would love the opportunity to meet all of our members so please reach out to me at bbpwpresident@gmail.com should you have any questions, comments or just to say hello.

Being that it is November and National Gratitude Month, I want to take a moment and thank Celia Clancy our outgoing President and now Board Advisor for everything she has done to drive this organization forward and to prepare me and the Board to continue its growth and success in the following years. I also want to thank my fellow Board Members for all the hard work and dedication they pour into BBPW each day. I could not do this without you all! I encourage everyone this month to practice gratitude in even the smallest of things so that our spirits and hearts stay full in these uncertain times.

Here is this month’s BBPW scoop:

December Meeting: Our next meeting will be held virtually on Monday December 7th at 5:30PM. This will be a holiday celebration centered on catching up with one another. Please bring your favorite drink and some snacks with you and celebrate the holiday season with us!

Mentoring: Our Mentorship Committee is in full swing. They have 6 new mentors and have been training everyone to prepare for the new cohort. Applications are now open for mentees to apply to the program. Learn more here.

November Meeting: Our last meeting was a hit! Thank-you to Greylock Federal Credit Union, Stephanie Martin, Rebecca Beron and Lynn Wallace for the expert advice you provided us with. If you missed this meeting, members can view it here through Monday, November 16th. If you need the password, please email me.

Scholarships: Our new Scholarship Committee Co-Chairs Hannah DeLisle-Stall and Ivy Rodriguez-Campos are hard at work transforming our annual scholarship program. They are bringing lots of fresh, exciting ideas to the table and we are eager to see the outcome next year. We are hoping that our program will become even more accessible for diverse women working on career advancement of many kinds.

Monthly e-Newsletter: We are always looking for members who would like to submit an article for publication in the e-Newsletter and we also offer any member’s business or organization to be featured in our Monthly Spotlight. Please fill out this form to be featured.

Member Portal:If you have not looked through our member portal please check it out and add your profile today! Our email list is growing, and this is a good way to get the word out about your business and to do business with women-owned businesses.

With gratitude,

Kalee
