Gail Zinberg, LICSW has been a psychotherapist in private practice since 1999 after receiving an MSW from Fordham University in 1995. Gail has had extensive training and clinical experience in trauma and traumatic dissociation, as well as Gestalt and Relational Gestalt Therapy.
Gail began teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction classes at Mindful Berkshires in Pittsfield, MA in 2015.
A practitioner of Vipassana/Insight meditation since 1983, when diagnosed with a rare and deadly cancer in 2012, Gail discovered the true value of meditation practice in the capacity to meet a serious health crisis with calm, ease, equanimity and balance.
Determined to share this invaluable benefit of meditation with others, in 2014 Gail began MBSR teacher training: first studying Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine with Jon Kabat-Zinn, followed by intensive MBSR teacher training and group and individual supervision with senior staff at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at UMass Medical School, where she is currently a candidate for MBSR teacher certification.
