Bio: As a career diplomat, Ann DeLong is committed to bolstering the Foreign Service and encouraging and mentoring young people from all walks of life to represent their government abroad. Passionate about public service, Ann has worked for four government agencies over the past 25 years. Prior to joining the State Department, Ann worked for ten years as an international environmental consultant. Having spent the prior decade working for the Environmental Protection Agency, Ann’s work took her to Central and Eastern Europe, the Former Soviet Union, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Ann graduated from Carleton College with a B.A. in Chemistry and earned two Masters degrees in Business Administration and Environmental Science. Ann taught high school science as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa. Ann has lived overseas for 17 of the past 23 years, in El Salvador, Lithuania, Nigeria, Colombia, Peru, and Brazil. She speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
